Scratchboard
For my scratchboard piece, I decided to do a mermaid because I wanted to have a lot of detail while still keeping with a simple design.
Valued Graph Portrait
I decided to do a portrait of Beyoncé because she is one of my favorite performers. This was my first time drawing a face like this and adding shadows and value.
Tempera Batik
For my tempera batik piece, I wanted to have a lot of detail. I was inspired by traditional African clothing, which is personal to me because half of my family is African. Working on this piece, I felt connected to my heritage.
Seven Color Schemes
I chose teddy bears to illustrate the seven color schemes because I wanted to present the color schemes in a cute and fun way.
Color Wheel
For my color wheel piece, I chose to paint a picture of a character from one of my favorite TV shows. I love how the rainbow of color on her glasses pops and adds life to an otherwise very simple portrait.
One Point Perspective
For my one point perspective piece, I liked the idea of a large, open room. I added the bookshelf detail as a roomy touch, to make the room look a little more personal.
Portfolio Cover
I wanted my have a simple cover for my portfolio. I decided to decorate the letters in my name and accompany it with a simple flower design.
